Our Fees
We have two pricing models – 1. Per Finished Minute Model and 2. Hourly Rate Model.
Here is an explanation of both models.
1. Per Finished Minute Fee Model
This model is based on the length of the finished video / DVD product.
Many video production companies use this model because it’s the easiest way to estimate any given job. It takes into account all the tasks often associated with producing a “corporate” video used to promote, educate or sell a product or an idea. These tasks include meetings, planning, goal setting, writing, on-site production, studio editing, voice-over management and DVD authoring services.
Example: Company A hires Lake Erie Video to produce a 5 minute promotional DVD that shows a tour of their company. They want Lake Erie Video to write, shoot, edit, voice-over and author the DVDs and upload the final product to Company A’s website.
Lake Erie Video’s per finished minute fee for the above services is $950 per finished minute. So, a 5-minute DVD in this model will be $4750.00 (5 x $950)
Note: There may be additional fees if travel or animation service is required.
2. Hourly Rate Model
This model is based on the time necessary to complete a video/DVD product.
Fairly straightforward model is based on tracking the time to complete a project. If the work does not require many “add ons” such as writing and detailed editing, this structure is often more affordable. It is more open ended – we will estimate time but due to client changes / edits, the initial estimate may be altered to accommodate the client’s needs.
Example: Company A hires Lake Erie Video to videotape a 30-minute training seminar their employees are attending. They need the final DVD slightly edited – add names and a title and make 100 DVD copies for distribution.
Lake Erie Video’s hourly rate for the above service is $85 per hour. So, based on past experiences, it would require approximately 6 hours of labor to shoot and edit/author the DVD. The estimate would be about $500.00. This cost does not include duplication of the DVDs.
Note: There may be additional fees if travel outside the Greater Cleveland area is required.
Which model works best?
The answer to that question depends a lot on the client and the clear understanding of the work necessary. Lake Erie Video will review both methods on any potential work.
